All absences from school must be explained. This can be done by phoning the school office before, during or after the absence or by sending a note to the class teacher on the student's return to school.
Medication at school
All medication is recorded and administered through the school office. School staff, on parent/caregivers written request only, will supervise the administration of specially prescribed medicines to students. However, if possible, arrangements should be made for these medicines to be taken outside of school hours.
School Clinic (Sick-bay)
A student who is sick or who has an accident at school will report to the school office / clinic where medical assistance is given. If the incident is serious then every attempt is made to contact the parent/caregiver and an ambulance may be called if required.
School Contributions
School contributions are set at $20 for one child, $35 for two children and $45 for three or more children per year. These contributions are payable either at the beginning of the year or by part-payment each term.
A $30 textbook fee is also payable to in part cover the cost of textbooks used by the students throughout the year.

Students are able to participate in school banking through the Commonwealth Bank each Tuesday. Students take their bankbooks to the office or class teacher. In addition to encouraging students to start saving the school P&C receives a 35c donation for each transaction.

Parents/caregivers are requested to use kerbside parking in Dixon and Steel Streets. Please consider student safety and do not double park or park too close to the crossings. Please do not park in the church hall car park in Dixon Street.

Merit awards, in line with our student welfare/discipline policy, are presented at this time. Parents/Caregivers are welcome to attend.
Scripture
All public schools must offer religious instruction. It is conducted by a variety of religious teachers (Christian) each Wednesday for half an hour. Other religions are explored within the HEIS curriculum.
